Athletes move onto University

It’s that sad, but proud time of year when we bid farewell and good luck to some of our athletes as they start their studies away at university. This year, it’s au revoir to Ella and Kane. I’m sure you’ll agree that these two have contributed so much to the club over the years. As well as regular features at training each week, both have taken every opportunity to compete for the club at league matches, indoor meetings and open events. Since starting the club age 9, Ella has taken part each year in the cross country league and has represented North Wales at the Welsh and British XC interregionals. Both Kane and Ella have gained national medals on the track at both indoor and outdoor championships. Kane has also achieved the fantastic opportunity to compete a number of times for the Welsh national team both as an under 17 and under 20. Fantastic! GOOD LUCK TO YOU BOTH Remarkably, each of these athletes also managed to recruit a parent each into joining the coaching team at the club….hence the involvement of Chris our sprints coach and Emma in the middle distance group! Don’t worry, Chris and Emma will be continuing to give their time each week to each of their groups!!
