Crispin Backshall, coach at Colwyn Bay AC said ‘I’m so pleased with all the performances of all our athletes this weekend. There were many athletes, particularly in the younger age groups competing in the Welsh Championships for the very first time, overcoming nerves, gaining personal bests and experiencing the buzz of competing at a national event’. He adds ‘central to the weekend, it was great to see the club athletes of all ages supporting and encouraging each other and just genuinely loving their sport’.
Colwyn Bay Athletics Club trains on a Monday and Wednesday (18.45-20.00) at the Zip World Stadium at Eirias park, Colwyn Bay. New members are always welcome.
Currently, the Club is hoping to recruit volunteers to join their coaching team. Crispin adds ‘relevant training would be available via the club offering the suitable candidate a rewarding opportunity to gain skills and experience in athletics coaching via a structured development pathway.
