Senior and Under 15 Welsh Championship, Cardiff

Well that is a wrap for the under 15’s and senior Welsh Championships for 2024 in Cardiff.

Our juniors in action this weekend were Ruben and Cari.

Ruben was making his Welsh Championship debut, racing in the u15 boys 1500m and 800m. Since joining the club around 6 months ago, Ruben consistently works hard and is going from strength to strength. He clocked 5.18.74 in the 1500m on Saturday, then dug deep on the Sunday racing an excellent time of 2.21.53 in the 800m placing him 11th out of the twenty starters in his race. Fantastic Ruben .

Meanwhile Cari the rocket Roberts stepped up for the 100m on Saturday and 200m on Sunday for the under 15 girls. Sailing through the heats for the 100m, Cari pulled out a huge PB, powering her way to a championship bronze medal in the 100m with a time of 12.77s!!! Her legs must have recovered well as Sunday saw her flying through her heat again before smashing out yet another PB in the 200m final of 26.42 and gaining herself a championship silver !!! Absolutely incredible Cari, gwych!! .

Big thanks to John who also gave his time to officiate at the championships where he possibly had the best views of all the action!!
