Twin piers 2025

What a day, what a week! Thank you so much to all who came and supported our twin piers event today. It has been a week of slight stress (!), debate, plan tweaking and balancing everything with consideration to the critical water incident which has affected residents, services and businesses within Conwy county. We know a lot of preparation is made by entrants to our race and we just didn’t want to let you down.

Enormous thanks to Russ and Vicky who volunteer their time to manage all the race logistics and Sheelagh who arranges the army of Marshall’s along the route. A large round of applause goes to all of our fabulous Marshall’s - it made a change to be enjoying some sunshine for today’s race (even though it was a tad chilly! ????

Huge appreciation to Bernie, John Hatton and Paul for the NWRAC support for today’s race. Great to have John providing music and commentary at the race finish.

As always, grateful thanks to all the sponsors; Jones Bros civil engineering, Spatone, Grand Prix Express and Spar (McIlveen) of Llanrwst and Pen. Thanks also to both MWT Civil Engineering and SJ Davey Contractors for creating right of way and their assistance in allowing us the right of way through the roadworks at Llandudno and Rhos on Sea.
Above all, a massive thank you to all our entrants, spectators and supporters who came and enjoyed our fantastic races today ????????. We can’t promise the same weather next year but hopefully by then we will all be back to enjoying showers and flushing toilets! A portion of the race entry fees will be donated to Ty Gobaith children’s hospice, an amazing organisation which offer support to children (and their families) from birth up to 25 with life limiting conditions.

Finally, a big shout out to our club athletes who raced in the 10k race today. Dave Bus led the Colwyn Bay athletes home finishing in 13th position in a time of 36.20. Ciara was first lady home for club finishing in 43.32. The race today also featured the North Wales regional 10k championships; congrats to the amazing Josh and Ciara who won North Wales golds in their under 20 age groups, Dave Bis who took bronze in the M35 category, Barrie who won a silver in his VM70 age group and Anne who won a silver in the VW60 age group. Congratulations to all who took part ????????????????

In the morning we had the 3k fun run for the junior athletes and big a well done to our very own Elin who came in first in the fun run.
