Twin Piers Update
17/01/25
Please be advised the race is still going ahead despite the challenges we are facing due to the water supply issue in the Conwy area. We have had to make some changes to accommodate the event.
The Colwyn Leisure Centre is closed and has now become a distribution centre for Welsh Water. There is now NO parking here as a result and Race HQ has been relocated.
Race HQ (open from 10am) is now at the finish line on the promenade where race numbers and baggage labels can be collected. We have manged to source 2 standard portaloos, they were in high demand. There will also be 3 at the start in Llandudno.
There is parking on the promenade at Colwyn Bay however I believe it is pay and display. You can access the park from the promenade opposite Porth Eirias and there will be additional parking by the bowling green but limited spaces. Please park sensibly wherever you choose and be courteous near residential property. There is no access for coaches on the promenade and teams travelling will need to access Eirias Park and walk down to Race HQ should you require to collect race number or need a baggage label. You can put your own race number on your bag and the Grand Prix Express vehicle will be at the race start to take it to the finish.
The buses will still go from Eiria Park at 12.15pm and will be approximately an 800m walk from the new HQ.
Presentation will done as soon as the last runner has crossed the line.
Please allow plenty of time as the area will be busier than usual. Please ensure you have adequate hydration supplies. There will be small cups available at halfway and there will be a bottle at the finish in the goody bags.
Apologies for the disruption but we are doing our best to react to the situation and trust you can understand and pleased we are able to continue hosting the race.
Look forward to seeing you all on the day and best of luck with your race.
