Weekend 23rd & 24th Roundup
28/11/24
Weekend roundup - on the 23rd November, whilst Storm Bert was wreaking havoc along the North Wales coast, our athletes were also wreaking their own type of havoc on the indoor track at Deeside and within the mud at Liverpool.
In Deeside, our Colwyn Bay AC sprinters provided the fastest male and female times of the day across the fast and fierce 60m track. Connor (7.12) was the fastest overall athlete of the day, with Jake (7.67) also running well to finish 4th in the under 17 mens. The girls were all on fire with a clean sweep of PB’s across the board; Cari (8.09) led the ladies home acrosss the whole competition closely followed in second by Lydia (8.31). Lily-Ava (8.48) was 2nd in her senior women’s age group while Sienna, who has just moved up to the under 13’s age group ran a huge PB of 8.73 which already gives her a top 3 Wales 2024 ranking within her new age group! Lily-Ava also stepped up for the long jump (4.14m) and Sienna the long jump (3.63m) and high jump (1.15m). Well done all of you.
A short distance away from Deeside, Ruben was in action in a very muddy, ‘Bert battered’ Sefton for the Liverpool Cross Challenge. Conditions were beyond muddy but Ruben ran a strong and steady race to complete the 3km undulating course in a hugely respectable 11m 53 finishing 84th out of 144th of this quality field. Well done Ruben.
