Club Volunteer wins Welsh Athletics Volunteer of the Year Award

A massive congratulations to Crispin Backshall who was awarded the Welsh Athletics ‘volunteer of the year’ award at the annual awards ceremony in Cardiff.

Crispin has been an integral part of Colwyn Bay Athletics club for the past 15 years, sitting on the committee, coaching, competitions organisation and offciaiting. He also devotes a massive amount of his time to North Wales track and field helping plan and deliver competitions across the region making sure we have the potential to develop our athletes.

This is a well deserved award for Crispin who devotes his time and energy on a purely voluntary basis, balancing this with his day job and his busy family life (6 kids and and an ever increasing number of grandkids!!).

Well done to you. Crispin, fantastic
